“Just like that!” – Tommy Cooper Tribute Act at New Forest Comedy Festival
To honour the beloved British comedian Tommy Cooper, who passed away over thirty years ago, “Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show” is back on tour and ready to entertain at New Forest Comedy Festival. This spectacular show of magic, music and humour is sure to make all fans of his impeccable timing and slapstick comedy feel delighted again.
The comic’s classic gags, some lesser-known gems from his joke archive, and magical tricks will be included. After a sell-out run at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival and sixteen weeks at London’s Museum of Comedy, this tribute has been successful since its premiere in 2014.
Vicky, the daughter of Tommy Cooper, commented that it was a great honour to remember her father thirty years later through this production. She further noted that if he were around he would have been pleased knowing that his comedy still brought laughter into people’s lives.
John Hewer (Tony Hancock in Hancock’s Half Hour – The Lost Episodes and Harold Steptoe in Steptoe and Son), who plays the man in the fez, encouraged people to attend as they will be entertained with music, magic and plenty of Tommy’s signature style of comedy. He also added that it was an honour to bring Tommy’s timeless sense of mischief to both old and new audiences.
Tickets for the “I’ll be back! Tommy Cooper Tribute Show” are available directly from the venue at Royal British Legion, Blackfield for the show on 17th June at 4 pm or online by clicking here
